Hi Pete ...yes Alan did mention the car to me , I would love to have a look at it next time I am in Perth , probably in a week or so . A few other things to check are that the metal flare supports are spot welded , not riveted , the heater brackets should also be spot welded and there should be a fuel breather hole located under the rear seat on passenger side , with a nylon plug in it . It makes sense that it would have had an ADR Plate fitted , as the car number would be about right for an early 1970 made S . Sounds like it has a new radiator shroud panel fitted , as there should really be something on it , probably not been re-stamped , as 9YaTah suggests ...cheers Alan

G'day Pete,

I've seen your MKII at Minicentral, it's looking quite nice (and it is the same colour as mine so I'm biased)

My S is an April 70 model. From what I can see on my MkII radiator shroud, I can spot a "Y" then a gap of an inch then a "4" and then after that is the body number. the rest is prolly hidden by paint I suppose.

Your welcome to come around and suss my MkII Cooper S if you wish. I'm over at Port Kennedy.
