insurance on mine is not that bad. atm im paying 400 a year 3rd party. im waiting on a alarm system and immobiliser so that i can upgrade to full insurance. they quoted me on 25 000 for 900 a year. witch i think is not that bad. alot of my mates are paying in the 2 000 to 5 000 mark.

i think its cos its a mini and there is not alot of hi risk of it getting stolen on there data base, like there is for say a WRX or Skylines  .

don’t know how brad will go though.

i have spoken to a couple of insurance companys and they both were around the $1200 a year range for full comprehansive agreed value of $16000. One said they needed to inspect he car before hand. The other said as long as its engineered for all mods and is registard no problem.

By the way im 25 now and 60% no claim.

ok guys, well im now married  had the manditory honeymoon, spent a fortune and didnt leave much for the mini. Got the engineer out today to go over the car and it passed with flying colours.
Even goto go for a spin around the block to go get it wieghed for him, and must say it is so nice to drive. I didnt give it heaps (4500rpm) as im not sure how the fuel mixtures are with the new turbo and fuel pressure regulator, will get it dynoed once it passes blue slip.

Anybody out there in sydney that knows someone to get a blueslip from?? Cant be to strict :? Here are a couple of pics of it with doors and bonnet.

Yeh did ask them today, they dont really have a guy they use all the time, just normal mechanics in the area. Most people use guys that they know well, and have used them before for normal services and stuff, so they can get away without things like child restraints etc.

thanks anyway.

Well done mate, really came together well. Obviously NSW seems to be the state to do up cars as my engineer wanted me to weld my subframe to the engine bay sides! Hopefully I won't be that far behind you (6+ months????) and I can see you up at Wakefield Park as it pretty much equidistant. Thanks for your pointers too.

Cheers

Matt

Mate: there is a guy down here in Wollongong called Col Potts, he has been doing engineers reports on mni for many many years, He's a closet mini man. He did the report on my green mini. THe first engineer picket the car to bits on all sorts of stupid things then someone put me onto col and the only thing he picked me up on was the roll cage hoop was too far forward. He didnt even mind when the chassis number on the rego papers was different that the one on the car (by one digit missing).

You have my email if you want more details.
