yeah, check bunnings willy. I picked up a 25 piece (?) spanner set for $26..... i DID snap an open ender once, took it back, they swapped it for a new set, no questions asked - i only ever use the rings ends now anyway.... the set comes in the usual black plastic holder. Its sold in a yellow and black box.

simple answer is when you break the 7/16", 1/2" or 9/16" el cheapo spanner/socket you replace that size with a good quality sidchrome, snapon etc one of the same size. you will break the cheapo ones in this size at some stage because like the doc says 99% of the nuts in a mini are this size.

nothing on the road has happened to me over a LOT of miles that i could not fix with 7/16" - 1/2" ring, 9/16" combination, flat screwdriver, philips screwdriver or leatherman multi tool. my brother was driving when the brakes failed so that doesn't count :D if you keep it well maintained to start with you are less likely to have problems

Have had that replacement set for over a year now without a problem..... it just pays to use your tools correctly in the first place....
