NOthing special, just a re-vamp and optimisation of what is already there....

Moving the auxillary radiator and Oil Cooler to a wheel arch, hopefully adding the intercooler (if i ever finish it...)
Changing to Honda Brakes and Pulsar Dizzy (Gareth.... where are you ?) .....
Some minor rust work and hopefully a new exhaust...... Ports to tailpipe.. the tail section isnt that bad, but the dump pipe and the down pipe are a little restrictive.....

Some head work, inlet manifold revsion and some "minor" carb tweaks.......

all in all, a day or two's work ! (hopefully for an extra bag of ponies and some extra reliability!)

good luck m8, i wish i could be there 2 help ;)

No mate that is not my old unit. Does look nice though. It too ran a turbosmart external wastegate. The SU carby ran in line with the plumbing directly to the turbo so you wont miss it when you see the donk. Spathi, the guy that bought it was a young guy about 18yrs old from Caloundra area. I believe he was fitting it to a car that was being painted in the Ford Purple of the XR6. If anyone sees it let me know. Dam that was a sweet engine. Kind of regret selling it. My fiance is itching for another mini for weekends, but wants something quick. God bless her.

turboing is cheaper way to go as supercharger kits are pretty pricey

Im looking to do something like turbocharging or supercharging soon....with the help of a mate who has worked with minis before and has turbo'd and supercharged cars, but not a mini.
What sort of prices are you looking at to either turbocharge or supercharge?
Dont take my word for it or anything but I have heard supercharging would be cheaper and easier to install...am i right?
How much more power does super/turbocharging actually give to the performance of your mini in perhaps bhp, or accelerating speed???
Cheers for the info guyz. im really keen to learn

i quess is you do either conversion RIGHT your probably looking at a similar price however i still feel its possible to get a faster more economical mini by using a turbo rather then a supercharger
most superchargers seem to go for around 5k but are easier to install
if you can get a hold of a metro turbo could probably get one here for 1500-2000 then give it a freashen up as required and install
depends how much you can do yourself and a whole lot of other things
Work out what you want explore the differences in the two
with drivability, power, problems your basic pros and cons then look at price when ever you want power it will cost a bit more then the norm

Depends how much you can do yourself, what parts your going to use etc.

I bought a metro turbo manifold for $500 which i recently offloaded. Its a straight bolt on job but requires provisions to be made in the firewall for the turbo to clear. Then you'd have to take into account and engine(and gearbox freshen up) to cope with the extra power.

Alternatively do a setup similar to Kazjim. Other costs get involved here then, such as 'custom' manifold etc.

Mate I seem to get asked that a lot lately. The expense isnt in putting on the turbo or supercharger but in getting the thing to be reliable with big power. Lets face it if you do it right the first time you will save money in the long run. I didnt want to cut corners so mine was a little dearer than most but you could build something good for around 5k if you do most of the work. You can get good power but dont get greedy and wind the boost too much. PS factor in about $500-$1000 for tuning.
