In that document on SA regulations.... tilt front yes, but NO wheel spacers EVER

The document says "Spacers are not permitted between the hub and wheel (unless originally fitted by the manufacturer)"

So how do you work out "No wheel spacers EVER"?

just put it behind the hub :) or weld it to the wheel... then it's no longer a spacer.. :)

Sorry, i thought you were referring to BOTH as custom items.

For minis, stepped drums would be okay (factory option), seperate spacer inserts are illegal.

Hmmm.. I don't have one handy, of course, but didn't Sportspacks come with separate spacers... ex factory? Just a thought..

Anyhow with 12 or 13" wheels, 9" Honda discs and the right offset, you don't need any spacers. 8)

ps. if you have to, you can bolt the disc to the spacer from behind with csk screws, so it IS part of the disc.

In SA it doesnt matter if its bolted on or not, its a spacer so its illegal.

OK f*** it then, go make some THICK discs! They're only cast iron...

Or just give up the idea of having excellent brakes, and go buy 8.4s..

It is not illegal, read the rule! "Spacers are not permitted between the hub and wheel (unless originally fitted by the manufacturer)"

If you have a hub with long studs you need something between the wheel and the hub otherwise the wheel will flop around.
BMC fitted a brake drum with an integral spacer so therefore a spacer was fitted by the manufacturer and a spacer would be legal if fitted in the same way.

Yeah, but that BMC drum and "spacer" is a single piece of steel, not 2 items bolted together. When the drum and the spacer are made from 2 seperate pieces of steel, they are not permitted in SA. Trust me, ive been there before.

YES the factory made BMC stepped drums are fine.

What i'm saying is that any AFTERMARKET spacer is illegal. If it is a seperate piece of steel or aluminium or whatever, it doesnt matter if it is bolted to the drum or not, it is illegal.

Some of my comments may need a few more explainatory details, but I know i'm right. Sorry if i confused you.
