That will make good reading-seen as the 1275LS was the most luxurious Mini produced in Australia(now thats a bold statement).
And as the advert says-"Saving the Best till Last".

so we've established that there are more than 30 around but not a lot more by the sounds of it

does anyone know anything about this car or the seller?

There's a lot more out then 30 plenty and probably more then what the Mini clubs in each state or ausmini know of. They seem to be popping up all over the place. What's teh number on the register now Chris??

What I quoted in the description of My 1275 LS for sale is information that I have from Chris Zerial when he started the LS1275 register. It is info that is now a couple of years old, Ok. The number is only what was on the register then. I am sure that there are people who own LS1275s and don't even know or are concerned about this register. No matter the number of cars left whatever the quantity, one has to bare in mind that there were only a very limited number made around a thousand from memory. Sure as hell in time to come they will be a rarer car than a Cooper S as we all know what happened to most of this model. I can assure you it would be a better thing to own than a pretend Cooper S Value wise. And we know how many of those are around the country cos every man and his dog has on.

I don't know much on the topic but why aren't LS's as popular as the GT's. My brief research suggests they have the same running gear yet fetch anywere up to half as much.

Can someone tell me what I am missing?

It's basically the same as the cooper s tax that parts seem to attract , order something for a cooper s and then order the identical part (talking identical bits here , not specific cooper s bits)from a mini or moke and often the price is double  , GT's are desirable due to rarity and they are the only real performance clubbie made , the LS had a similar motor (1100s block , not cooper s block) but only a single carb standard though it benefitted from the bigger discs . If I had the space Tony's would be heading my way but I've already got 3 mini's downstairs and another coming out of hiding soon .

The Land of Oz adopted those funny French things in 1972 so everything was in Froglengths instead of cubits.

They do NOT have the same running gear.

Oz Clubby GT has Mk2 Cooper S specs- motor, box, hydrolastic suspension and brakes. 78HP.
1275 LS has roughly the same specs as later UK 1275GT.
Dry suspension, 8.4" discs, 12" wheels, ~61HP.

I know of another one in Stawell that a guy got from an auction for $2500 & is gradually restoring her.
Also a dairy farmer down Traralgon way had a Nugget Gold one in the Melb trady weeks back for $2300 in need of TLC.
I rang him & was told I'd missed out on it but he will have another better condition Nugget Gold one for sale in 4 - 6 mths after he finishes the rebuild on his Hi Ho Silver one for his wife.
So that is 4 here in this post alone!!!! :?
Come on people, where are the rest :?:
