( =

you should also put a message in it, or a poster, or a letter
i had a dream last night i found an envelope in my roof lining
and it was from the first owner
and had a tiny little key in it
no letter though

) =

address it to Curtis and when he does his own resto on it he'll find out:
"how to remove the head lining"
hehe

Hi there,
Black Velour hey... very nice.
Just had all the interior recovered in mine, black velour and blue crushed velvet not cheap for that stuff.
Im also yet to put the roof lining in. Got a friend who is an upholster and he is going to do mine cheap ($100). Hate to think how much it would cost full price.
All i know, and thats not much. Is that he was going to have to stitch the edges up...
Your best bet would be to get it done properly, it wouldnt be nice to get it finished and have it sagging in the middle.
Good Luck...

The middle is OK, the bows hold it all up- it's the sides that are a PITA.. getting them straight and even.

If its just yourself doing it, maybe you could get a lot of metal clips and clip it all up without glue so its all taut and in position then undo a couple clips at a time and glue down.

Yep that's how I did it.
Hardest part was trimming it neat, around the A & B pillars.

I kinda made an open invitation in another post somewhere. Chris Z wanted to come and have a looksee, so I said all welcome.

I will be up early with glue in one hand, interior material in the other. I need to glue the black vinyl onto the pillars and other interior places before I can fit the roof lining.

So all welcome till about 2ish, when the Mrs and Jr are due home.

Come and watch me get frustrated with this damn roof lining.....

This is my roof liner, Its Red velvet stuck to an inch of foam then stuck to the roof. Soft and Pimpy haha. This pic was taken before the re-paint of my mini so i had clips holding the liner up at the windscreen end so i didnt have to take the screen out.

Hey

Does anybody do a molded roof lining like the falcons etc, that way its a single solid peice that you only need to glue around the edges. And to change the subject abit can ordinary house carpet and underlay be used for the rest of the car or is it not hard wearing enough?

Cheers
Gig

yea I like the idea of a moulded roof lining, but no one would spend the time designing and manufacturing one for such a small market.
