you need to ask what type of carpet you will end up with. I have had 2 other (not Mini's) cars redone and the estimate varies depending on the finished carpet that you want. Ie cheap stuff that will last a couple of years or good stuff that will last and look 1000% better!! Depends on the budget and the look you are after!

Why wont you go to Newton Commercial (newtoncomm.co.uk) and look up their retrim kits - atlest for the door cards and rear seats + trims it should all cost you only a few hundred bux - you can choose a whole heap of patterns \ colours - or do a search in "trim kits" on minispares (they are a bit cheaper). Since you arent planning on doing it for awhile - get surface mail and save on postage.

Their door cards won't fit Oz cars, unless they are 850 etc with sliding windows.. all the other UK door cards are different to ours.
Our Clubbie rear seat backs (most) are different shape too.

Correct Doc...I looked at Newton's site a few days back and most of that stuff wont go into a Clubby (OZ spec). Front and rear seats are different....AND it's pretty damn expensive, even without shipping.

It does look like nice stuff though!!

Yea I'm an idiot - the sliidng window UK doors without provision for an internal window winder and door lock remote mechanisams. True. And the raised middle part on the Oz clubby back seat.

Its like an endless process with me - I go onto the newton site look up the trim then remember that it doesnt fit so I start looking localy. Then despairing of finding the right ones I go on the newton site again and conveniently forget the differences,

Check with Mini Classic, that's where I've bought some stuff in the past (before Greg owned it though). I'm sure Greg has somebody that makes it up for him.

Revolution Racegear. Look like Cobra Classics or similar.

apparently the frame structure of those is relatively ordinary. i was just told that by some other brand of cobra classic style seats.. but hey they were prolly just trying to get a sale.

CHANGE OF IDEA......

I got my seats out of storage today. I haven't seen them in 1 1/2 years!!

They are perfect, except for the stitching on one has let go. I am now thinking of getting them cleaned and repaired, then dyed. I know you can get vinly spray dye, and some people swear by it, but what about the fabric? Can I dye that? The VHT website says you can't use their product on fabric...only vinyl.
