Just watch the rag doesn't trap water and rust the bonnet out behind the badge .

i cutout some thin rubber (prettymuch like a gasket) and mounted the badge (stops the metal pushing into the paint and solves rattles)

With dad's S we used a heavy duty badge tape (too long ago to remember the name but it's black super sticky tape they fix badges to new cars with) as well as the mounting pins on the badges , no rattles and damn hard to get off as well so a bit more secure .

Not such a bad idea. Someone lost their front badge on a cruise we did recently. Bounced out on some bumpy roads.

Cush, that looks so hot.

I particularly like the rust vinyl you have on the bonnet.
