I just sat down and spent a full hour reading the manual that came with my mobile phone. I cant find anywhere where it said you can only text message with shortened words. In fact the manual showed their examples with fully and correctly spelt words.

I then thought that the people reading the messages might have short or bad eyes and were therefore unable to read long words. So I googled eye problems and found a whole host host of eye conditions. None of these showed a need for shortened words.

Bringing this back to something even a tyre fitter would understand, shortening the words in text messaging or in ausmini is a bit like only putting two or three nuts back onto a wheel after you fit a tyre.

does the intake pipe change the sound at all?

it does a bit... there's more of a sucking/whooshing sound than before but it's further away from the firewall so you hear it out the window more than in the car...

People who say the English Language is a living thing and should be allowed to evolve are lazy! They are partially correct - yes it is a living language. However, people who would like to change it should take the time to master it first! If kids were able to be failed on spelling at school, and prevented from advancing/graduating... Or if teachers were failed at university on the same grounds... That's not an attack on teachers - I know quite a few good ones. I also know some who couldn't spell at a 2nd grade level (before and after uni). It's a comment on the standards to which the education system runs. Which isn't about funding...
What I find absolutely ludicrous is the amount of times you'll receive an sms from someone who's abbreviated everything, so you end up with six characters on your screen. You reply, and then receive another 10 characters from the same person. When the person could have sent 160(?) characters in the first message, and created a comprehensible and comprehensive communication. Instead, they spend twice the money (for two messages) - completely defeating the purpose of the Short Message Service (to provide inexpensive communication), and the purpose of abbreviating text - something done to shorten a message so it fits into a single message.  .

Cush, all you need now is a big bell mouth on the pipe, going all the way to the grill (even better if it covered the dizzy) to get a Ram effect. 8)

:o I've got to back up tinymorris1969 on this one but I also understand where some of these critics are coming from. I have rather bad Dislexia and for the life of me carn't spell exhaust and in a text I carn't write 'tommorow' so all I can do is write 'tomo' in regards to you (u) and, are (r) I see (c) no problem with those kind of shortinings. grama is what I try to get right, if you've got good grama and puncuation the short words can be easly understood.

Oh also this post was about cool air induction not the precise spelling and grama of some ausmini members, and texters. Anyway I think we could all understand the post in question, some of us simply carn't help it. no hard feelings fellas  8)

lol no worries mick, it doesnt worry me that you pick up on my shorten wordings, what annoys me is when people on the forum bring it back up as a smartass comment, its not needed and i thought one of the rules of the site was that ur not meant to taunt other members?

It's a grey line, some people step brazenly over it and others are more passively aggressive. A little jibbing usually doesn't offend too much, but if it crosses a line, or gets too brazen that's when it's time to step in.

English is a second language for me. You are not the only one but sometime i cannot understand some message. it's not just the spelling but how certain poeple construct their sentences. And i repeat it's not just you.

What english got to do with a "soon to be patented" air intake anyway
