Mick... all done

Plus, it's a good excuse for being on ausmini @ work.
"I'm just taking an order from one of the ausmini boys..."

willy, are there any seatbelts that don't look like modern ones? They all seem to have black plastic buckles with orange buttons. I'd like a good old fashioned looking silver metal buckle with grey webbing, like what was around in 1960. Are there any?

With all the ADRs of todays age, all belts have plastic fittings.
The only part which is able to be made look 'old' is the webbing itself, and only by colour. - Grey is readily available, as well as a range of other colours.

Using old fittings on a new webbing is a bit of a dark area.
I will investigate the possibility of using old fittings on new webbing, but it is not a common practice at all.

I highly doubt you will find any ADR approved NEW belts with old style fittings.

Thats what I figured. There are still stocks of NOS seatbelts from the 60's kicking around but their cost is extortionate and their safety suspect. I'd imagine that its illegal for retailers to sell non ADR compliant belts now.

Next question. On old Minis which have had seatbelts retro-fitted, you often see a bolt that goes right through the B pillar. Are they still available?

Certainly are.
They are called barrel bolts, and we carry them in stock.
The smaller variety I think would be better suited to the Mini - normal type have a very broad main bolt, and need cutting down a fair whack.

Cool, thanks for that, I'll remember that when the time comes.
