Crazy!

What kind of crank is that (Big J?)? Did you have it crack tested etc before building the motor?

You must have really thrashed that motor!
<edit> Not that that's a bad thing. 8)

Yeah stock big J

i bought the motor second hand i knew it wasn't balanced don't know much more
about it...

Guess the rev limiter shouldn't have been set at 6200
maybe at 5800 where the power droped off

Oh well, at least the cranks are in big supply, if if were an S crank or something it would be an expensive repair to find another in good nick.

If buying a 12G1505 big journal crank, get it crack tested first.
St George Crankshafts told me that out of the last 5 he got sent to grind, 3 were cracked....

A later Metro crank is probably a better bet, as it's not 30+ years old.
They drop straight into an 1100S or 1275LS block.

Or Rhemac if you've got the dosh. I don't personally like the people at Rhemac, for various reasons, but apparantly they do good engine work.

Knowing Beanie he probably will have a 'go' at building it himself.
My sentence still stands.
