It was a good night, brad you did exceptionally well for the cars first outing 8) 13.9 was right on the money ;)

Chris, don't worry about a 16sec 1/4 there was this big tough pontiac mother-of-a GTO V8 in front of us, haha it only did an 18.6 1/4..looked AND Sounded intimidating though. I have a pic of it if someone is willing to host..

Great night, need to organise a few of you faster guys down there...Not much support for the little mini from the stands though :( Here we were screaming when he pulled off a 13.9 and people looked at us as if we were crazy haha :D love it.

dosnt matter what you run, as long as you have fun. Once you get a base time the fun is in trying to better that time every run.

As josh said there are a few 19 second cars out there, but if you still feel stupid then you can get the officials to run mini v mini every run, they do this no problems just have to let the know. Trust me if you think you have a fast street car, it will look slow unless it runs faster than an 11, the rest over a 12 look the same.

There isnt really any support from the crowd unless you run a low 8, but back in the pits i had hundreds of people come over for a look, plus everyone knows minis are fast :)

We will have to organise the next outing at the up and coming mini meet on the 2nd of jan at the gong.

13 second runs out of Mini's are something to be proud of. With no tacho in my clubby, I'm starting to get concerned at much over 100 k's.

Consider that a guy I knew well in his LJ torana gutted bare, running a stinkin hot 202 and 35(yes, thirty five) pounds of boost scored himself a 10.5 on slicks. That was enough to have Victor Bray and quite a few other drivers sign the car for him, and attract attention from "The Wild Bunch".

Just more proof that Bricks can fly if given enough of a kick up the arse.

Mini's arent renowned for straightline speed. I'd love to see some of those other rotaries, and 3000GT try and take corners or roundabouts with ya. The WRX might do it, but I doubt the others would have a chance.

when at the 4,6 and rotary nationals there was a mini (the guy who has a superchargered 998) running 14's. he was beating everyone in his bracket. the crowd support was crazy! everyone stood up to watch all the way to the end to see who won, where as 95% of other cars people just watched them off the line then until they could no longer see them. EVERYONE cheered the mini it was soo good.
course i was the loudest

Congrats Brad. Top stuff.

Your mini makes the WRX look a like a bucket... Very tough looking mini!

It'd be interesting to compare the price to performance ratio of all the cars running in the 13s.

thanks mate, well i started with a completly standard mini that was headed to the wreckers, spent about $5000 in parts on it, another $3000 labour, paint ect. so for under 10 grand i got a 13sec car that can go around corners, is 100% street legal and is a comfortable daily driver.

just deposit the cash in my swiss account and ill get started on it right away, may take a couple of years, only do it in my spare time :)

If you have a good base, disc brakes, nice paint, good interior you could do the conversion for under 5 grand, that includes the purchase of the halfcut. couldnt even get a 5 speed for an a series for that much

MWAHAHAHAHA. Ya gotta admit, they DO look like a cool little toy car amongst all the ricers and Bommadores.

Love the pic, and so happy that ya could show up some of the kids driving mum&dad's car.

bah, he'd kill anything through roundabouts, 4wd's understeer through them, and a wrx is a lot bigger than a mini.
