Don't forget John Banham in UK, his pretend Bugeye Sprite conversion the Banham Sprint looks killer.
http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?banhamindexf.htm

his website www.banmoco.co.uk appears to be something else now.

oh yeah, when i first saw that Sprite/mini kit car from Banham i was soooooo keen to grab one & shove a Yamaha R1 donk into it,,, Now that would be a great little club car hey? but the cost & freight over here was just knocking me about

i wonder what happened to him?

I was dead keen on these, and used to read the Banham Sprint forum. In light of this forums policy on not criticizing anything, I should tactfully say that a number of the sprintists were having problems assembling the cars. Not helped by Mr Banham's after sales policy.

That's a shame (along with the fact he closed down six years ago it would seem) as the Roadster and Sprite lookalike were attractive cars, but a FWD sprite doesn't seem entirely 'right'. Still, regardless of the quality, I'd still buy one if the opportunity arose.

No mention of the Hawk mini sprint, he only made 11 before BMW told him to stop or be sued

There's another Frogeye replica available these days. The tifosi rana.

Its quite similar in concept to the Banham Sprint, in that you take the donor car and cut it back to just above floor level then graft the kit on. Trouble is that it uses a later model Sprite or Midget as the donor. Shame its not based on something cheap, modern and available locally.

Do Nota still make Fangs?

Their website doesn't exactly make it clear.

They are a bit bigger than the old Fang. I've driven Chris Buckingham's one. Steers like my son's Lotus Elise...

Yes , they do the toyota powered Fang still to order but it also isn't street registerable any more . The Nota F1 is the current road rocket using the Camry V6 (presumably that's what you drove drmini ? It is a fair bit bigger than the original fang but has Ferrari like power to weight ratio ) .

Hawk sprint, yes all GRP with steel frame for stiffness, Hawk cars are one of the best kit car builders in the UK, he builds Lancia Stratos and Cobra kits to name a few.

The one I drove (a few years ago) had a Camry 4 cylinder in it. But it went pretty hard.. :P
