you can get indicating silica gel.. bright blue when dry, turns to pink when wet.

what would be ideal, is a water trap on the inlet, and then a molecular sieve type dryer (do a google for 13A molecular sieve).. this stuff is great for drying air, and is regenerative.. ie just bung it in the oven for 60 minutes to dry it out, then put it back in the air line. you will need a container with fittings to connect it all up.. the silica gel is regenerative too, so mix some in with the molecular sieve so you can see when it is dry.

the benfit of this is, it also cleans the air.. removes NOx and SO2, and if you put some activated charcoal inline too, you can remove Ozone as well.. should be the perfect environment for storing a car.

what kinda pressure/flows does the air pump operate at?

Interesting!!! Not sure about the air pressure. Silica gel would be simple enough i reckon! I like that idea.

This is there idea for stringing it up. There are eyelets already attached to the cover. Just hoist the top section up off the car when it gets driven. No need to worry about it touching the car and scratching it. My shed looks the same as this one, so it should be ok. I just have to double check how high i can go without interfering with the ceiling fans.
