Good luck Simon, the one thing I can say for Falken tyres is they last. MIne have done around 45,000 km's on the Rover and still show little sign of wear. So much so that I think they've gone off as they now seem to handle much worse in the wet than they used to.

Nah, I've got a secret Falken weapon to use against them -- two Falken degrees of negative Falken camber on the Falken front, and one on the Falken rear

Won't be Falken long now

[edit] Keeping it on-Falken-topic

I think you all seem to have changed the Falken idea of this thread.
I thought we were discussing the width of 5" wheels compared to 6" wheels?
But as we now seem to be discussing Falken tyres, they do seem to provide average all round characteristics of Falken long wear, look quite Falken good and average Falken handling. :)

Can any one recommend where I can buy a set of 10" A008's in Sydney as I need to replace the Falken tyres on one of my fleet?

I have 5" minilights with stock suspension, full interior (ie stock) and stock brakes and can do 56sec flat on Oran Park short on those Falkens everyone is rubbishing. Mine were like 9-11 yrs old at the time too (see my youtube vids for an understeering pig coming onto the straight).

Ok ok, so it's with 150-160hp on board! But I still need to stop and turn a few times

Having said that, I reckon I'd get about 4seconds off if I had decent rubber underneath. I don't think the rim width would make that much difference but it would certainly give more confidence on transition between corners.

Most folks that have driven A008s on both 5" and 6" rims say the 6" rims make em hang on just a little longer, but when they do let go......

In my opinion 6" wheels make for more instability. They seem to tramline badly. Mind you the 6s I had were steelies with more offset so that may have contributed to (or even been) the problem.

Cheers, Ian

It would appear that Yokohama A008's are not easily available. I was advised they are currently out of stock and no known delivery time.
So another set of Falkens has been purchased @ $89.00 each
