Don't get me wrong, I'm all for subie motors, AWD, and twin engined cars but have to agree with Kenno about The Fly thing. Kinda creepy in the same way.

Looks like the Leone is being humped by Herbie "The Love Bug"

The Twini was all done on a “limited” budget, with minimal flash bits.
Took about 4.5 years and two bodies to get it right.
It has been built as a daily driver, not a performance car, although the potential is now there.
Two similar 1100 cc engines with basic extractors and 1.5 inch carb.
Standard rod change gear box’s.
Standard mini front sub frame in the rear.
Front disk brakes and standard drums on rear.
Modified standard fuel tank, with minimal touring capacity. I have the right hand tank for it, but I am a bit hesitant to cut it up and make it fit around the subframe.

Should be at Mini’s at the Mill with the rest of the family.

So what are your experiences, can you notice any difference between the performance of the fore and aft engines? Or does any small differences in performance get covered by the power of the stronger engine during acceleration??

Front and rear power and torque curves are about the same.
Very neutral to drive with minimal under or over steer.

I could only dream of what a 2.2 litre 4WD mini would be like...

Well done, I can't get enough of the pictures. Any chance of an image of how you get the linkages beneath (or around) the rear engine? I'm really curious of how you would manage this feat.

The yellow one is a Mini K that I keep up north to work on during the week - when time permits. Doing up all the mechanicals and detailing under the bonnet.
It is an original car with the Cooper S type black interia.
For sale after that.

do they both feed intot he one exhaust system? if no. does the back engine exhaust go through it's own muffler? where did you fit it?

Two seperate exhaust systems, one mufler behind the rear engine sideways, and the front mufler is inside an enlarged tunnel between the rear of the front seats and front of the rear engine.

I think everyone on here would love a picture of the underside of the car whilst it's up on a hoist to admire and ogle. 8)
