are we talking serious amounts of folding green Brian :?:

Canberra aint that far neither is SA if you got the original goods in top condition at realistic $$$$$. Ever buyer wants a bargain as much as every seller wants a massive profit, the key is compromise. PM if your serious.
Took me 18mths to find my MGB and there is plenty of those in comparison to MK2 COOPERS. I am a patient man on a mission.
Let's wish everyone success in their hunt.

i had a note on my mini once asking if i wanted to sell. the funny thing is it was written on a maccas napkin and there is no maccas in the byron shire (closest one about 45min drive away). this was my first clue as to the fact they were most likely tourists passing through. i texted them about this site but i don't think they joined. this was when my mini was in really bad condition to

(don't you hate that feeling when you first see the note from the distance and you tihnk parking ticket!!!)

i often run into traffic to tell mini owners about ausmini.com i also pull uies and chase minis. or i see them leaving town and quikly speed off in pursuit. thats how i met pretty much every-one who had a road some even non-road going minis in mullum/byron/brunswick.

edit: i may be selling my mini in 1-3 years time. i'm just starting to prepare myself for it now.

Had a business card left under the wiper of the s today - from a film company saying they are shooting a film, and "we like your car, please call".
Mmmmmmm, maybe a chance for 5mins of fame?? I'll have to drive it - OF COURSE!
We had the same thing happen when we had the Morrie Ute, but nothing came of it.
Peter.

I reckon you could upstage the mini in the Suncorp ad! That Cooper S was sweet - all red and looked perfect. From your avatar, yours looks hot! Go for it!

Gave the guy a ring - he has my details now, so see what happens. I think he leaves a lot of cards on a lot of cars, and contacts lots of people....but you never know.
He's particularly on the lookout for a BINI convertable too.
Peter.

I went to Brisbane from Tasmania about 4 months ago to bring my 850 to Tas were i live know. The car was in a shed that was in an ally way that was around other sheds. Anyway after extracting said car from 5 years rest i got it on the trailer and someone had come down to look at the shed next door that they just rented. And just happend to see my mini and said i will buy it so i said sorry its not for sale they realy tried to get me to sell it. IT IS NOT FOR SALE. they were disapointed. The car wasnt evan on the trailer 5 minits. How come i cant sell other cars that quickly

Must be getting ready for the 50th anniversary of the mini I guess, either that or everyone reckons that as the old model base Falcons have followed the GTHO prices sky high, even the most humble mini will follow the Cooper S.........

I've seen some ridiculously high prices asked, so if someone pays it, it sets the benchmark. If they don't, well.........check carsales - some stale listings there (smart sellers just update the ad every week or so).

i had a note left on mini ..
I had parked it in our driveway but on the footpath as the other car was in front of it.

The note said something along the lines of

"i shouldnt park my car on footpaths, because people see it as a good opportunity to kick my door in"

It wasnt a threat - it was more a friendly piece of advice. Given that i live next door to a bowling club that a lot of drunks leave - i think it was well warranted.
