The 850 was offered in black.

I have a BMC sales brochure at home with a black 850 in it. I'll scan it an post it up.

Thanks Tombo, I checked the Mini Experience issue 13 page 68 and there it is! Mantons cooper plate just like Tombo's! :P

Oh and to answer Gold Brocade 62, no, I don't have evidence at the moment of an earlier car than 588, it's the oldest, the first (number one) cooper 997 would of course have been 501, so at present, 588 is the oldest known to me, and Tombos plate 590 is the second......

I must check Wild Willys number though!

Let me know if you all know different!! 8)

i thought the inner wheel aches where always painted the body colour???

was it different with 850's?
