well teh master is fine - I pull the off the line that had arced the body and closed off the junction and the master was moving stuff around.

However when I emoved the brake from the junction at the back - the only things that came out were black goo and smoke - so I think that would cause the lack of pedal.

So a bag of grommets, a new battery retainer strap, some new brake line, a brake fluid drain and replace, a quick bleed (waiting for gadgets to capitolise on that :P ) and should be back in business.
