Really nice gesture, but yeah, lets give it a bit of time. I know that if I had a project on the go and something happened to me it would probably be one of the most appreciated things anyone could do for my family.

Good onya Cam.

Smithy had just purchased a rover mini here in WA. He sent me an email saying he had waited 17yrs for kids to move out and save the money, he was really excited about getting it.

As far as I'm aware the transaction wasnt finalised, the email he sent me was the day before the accident asking how to proceed as if he paid the money then the seller would have cash and car and vice versa.

My condolences to all his family, I had only just made his aquantance but he seemed like a really nice bloke. I'm sure he will be sadly missed.

A recent post from Smithy has touched me in this instance and I hope his family keeps this in mind

This is so sad. Even though I never got to know the Guy I can feel the loss of a friend. I am very touched. Should we as Ausmini people do something to show his family we do care ? May he rest in Piece.

Yes this was Chris. A Character, and a person that would always help out in any way he could. He'll be missed and I can only hope his family will recover as much as you can after such a tragic and unexpected loss.

Cheers
Aaron

As with many others here I didn't really know smithy but saw his posts , any loss like that in our community is tragic . My deepest condolenses to his family and those who knew him .

Does anybody know any details for the funeral and what are peoples thoughts of an Ausmini wreath or donation somewhere if the family doesn't want flowers ?

We had been talking over the last 10 years about building his dream car...

I will be attending his funeral, and representing brickworx, ausmini and the mini community.

If anyone would like to contribute to a donation(i have the details)
or anything please let me know. Maybe someone could make up a poster with all our names on it, let him know we are still thinking of him.
I am more than happy to pass on anything.
