I don't think my old 1275 motor would be capable of smoking the 13 x 8's.

Can I have a share of the mayhem ? I have a refreshed Goulburn speedway avgas 1310 here that could test the tyres ....

I fixed the tyre problem. I stuck a set of 1275LS wheels on it. They are a bit skinny but they should do a good burnout tomorrow. The fronts wouldn't fit over the calipers so I turned them around.
Just need a roll pin for the rod-change. :?

Go ahead and drop a donk into it and take it to Wakefield, you can sort out the brakes and suspension for me. :D

The car is a bit of a strange one. It's actually a Clubby body with a Rover roundnose front grafted on (with no inner guards) and roundy tail lights fitted. The guy I bought it from built it as a weekend racer that would be road registered. But when he came to register it with all the mods, he ran into problems. So he kept the engine and box and put it up for sale.

Meanwhile, I have a David Rosenthal Twin Cam looking for a home. Originally I intended to put it in the Moke, but I decided I like the Moke as a reliable little cruiser. It just didn't seem right to fit such a radical engine to the Moke. They're great for Motorkhanas, but if I was going to run at Winton I wanted a car with a roof.

So I started looking for a cheap Mini shell to house the Twinky engine, that I would not need to road register. As this car came with the wheels, brakes, seat, harness and fuel cell already fitted, it seemed like a good buy. I'm sure I'll find some issues, but at worst I can swap all the good bits into another shell. :)

Cheers,

I think the brakes and suspension will take more sorting than I can give it. But it does look perfect for what you have in mind.

I was thinking of slipping an alloy half cage in it. The main reason was to get it out of my shed.

Hmmm, if you want it out of the shed I'm sure we can come to an arrangement. :)

My son is very excited, telling every visitor "Daddy's getting a Mini Racecar!"

Just as you were going out the gate I realised that I had forgotten to put the Montego on the trailer.

No it is not running yet, but the wheels do look nice on my Cooper S.

I think you you know what you can do with the montego!
Fill it up with all those clubman parts.
$150 per tonne!
