5c for the pile...

I've been away for a few days and just read about The Last Straw.

There are perhaps four or five people who post on Ausmini whose opinion I trust and respect without question, and David is at or close to the top of the pile. The truly gifted amongst us can be a cantankerous lot, and I can understand David's justified reaction to the situation. If I were him, I wouldn't put up with the sh!t handed out here, either.

The loss of a talent such as David to this community (hey, there's a concept: Ausmini is a community, how about we act like one!?) is lamentable, and we are all worse off for his absence. I can't describe the amount I've learned from David's writings, and I will genuinely miss his contribution.

With any luck calmer heads will prevail and David will feel like returning when he's forgotten the offence, and whoever it was that pissed him off the final time has that out of their system and is prepared to behave like a sensible community member.

I suspect that will happen around a week after hell freezes over.
