Fun police alert!

From a legal (adr) point of view you aren't supposed to have that many lights going at once

If that is the case, why can you order two sets of driving lights on a new mini, and also new jeeps? NSW police use XR6 falcons with one set of driving lights fitted giving a total of six main lights

because w*nkers think it's cool to drive around with their driving lights and headlights on, so the manufacturers sell the cars with them despite it rarely being legal to use them!

I bet the cops don't use all 6 lights at once

M1100 - why wouldn't it be legal to fit HID's?

I didn't say you can't have that many lights, you just can't have them all ON at once.
MINI won't sell a new car with 4 additional lamps, just 2 because 2 foggies are already in the bumper. There are kits for more lights but they're aftermarket.
Same goes with Jeep, if you want more than 6 on a new car its aftermarket. Quad lights as seen on the roof aren't for street use, they're too high up.

Adr requirements. Something about HID's must be fitted with headlight washers and ride levelling suspension.

Folks,
I investigated the idea of HID's for my mini..., I found out that under the ADRs It is illegal to have HID's for the low beams, especially for dual filament globed headlights. For high beam its legal. And for those who ask about modern cars with high & low beam HID's..., they need to have a wiper in front of the headlights & automatic self leveling system to adjust the lights whilst the vehicle is moving, and generally those cars have a seperate globe & headlight for low beam & for high beam. :D
