We are "resting" in Honolulu after One Lap and a quick visit to New Zealand to see an old friend.

ROO got a good cleanup, a little wax and a car cover for its rest in Brisbane.

All going well, in 2 years we will return to drive to Melbourne, hop the Spirit to Tasmania and attend Tasminifest 2013 - unfinished business.

Hello David,

Many thanks again for your hospitality prior to the Rylstone Classic and run north with us to Newcastle. Did I mention that I got a speeding ticket in the mail from NSW - photo radar - near Wiseman's Ferry. Mailed a cheque from Hughenden, Qld. on the One Lap. Since I was leaving near the end at every start...how many others got tagged by the camera?

Certainly do hope to catch up to you in 2013.

Cheers,

Rick

Hey Rick,

Thanks for the shift knob, it will take pride of place on my Traveller.

I'll try and join you on the 2013 run to Tassie. It soulds like a good excuse to catch up with Timbo. :)

Cheers,

Many thanks are due to those who assisted in one way or the other with ROO and the One Lap.

They included:

John & Lynne who were great folks to travel with - look forward to doing so again in 2013.

Andrew W. for ROO the Window Van.

Matt R. for assessment of ROO.

Brett N. in Mellbourne for the spare rim.

John G., aka Swampy, and the inspirational gang at the Swamp, including Cyclone and The Gnome.

Gavin & Amanda at Rayners in Nambour.

Ken N. in Ipswich for mechanical inspections (before/after) and parts.

Graham R. in North Rocks for generous hospitality and big help on front suspension rebuild.

Steve B. for help in Cairns with suspension adjust.

Garry L. in Toowoomba for shop access to address galling of steering arm bolts and "shiny bits" (they made it to NZ and into USA).

Last but not least, my warmest appreciation for cousin Patricia in Brisbane who handled our incoming funds, the purchase of ROO on my behalf, arranging REGO and Insurance as required, delivering/picking up ROO from Tony B. after electrical work...and with husband Darryl, for showing us around Brisbane, the Outback Show...and accepting custody of ROO until we meet again.

If I have forgotten someone...my bad and I apologize profusely.

Many thanks also to the Mini owners who offered encouragement before and during the drive. Chat, waves, smiles - even if you thought us nuts - were more than welcome.

At the finish on the Sunshine Coast, I was pleased to bestow an Honorary membership in the North American Classic Mini Brigade and Grill Badge to John & Lynne. They easily eclipsed the minimum mileage - a 5,000 mile continuous trip - and are the only Honorary Brigade Members other than David Vizard who is the Patron and Brigade member.

Rick Higgs aka Hunter2

PS - To you know who, I was serious about calling upon us if you will be travelling to British Columbia on Canada's Pacific Ocean coast.
