Location: North of the Harbour planning my next mini project
I did a similar process but used a spray can of wheel silver instead of black

That looks pretty good!
I have just had a look on the VHT website.. They have several shades of silver in the Wheel paint range.. I think 2 cans should be enough..

Whats the best way to get rid of the black stains on the aluminium lip?
I tried to use a grinder with a scotch brite style disc and mothers mag polish but it left small channels.

I put them in the lathe where I used to work, tyre and all. Machine the lip.
It's a BIG lathe...:mrgreen:

But if it's hit something and bent the lip, bin it and find another.

Contestas are quite cheap.

You can always put it up on stands are the front and let it idle along in first gear and wet sand them that way.

But don't get your fingers caught.

I had those, they rubbish. No grip at all in the wet.
The bridgestones weren't much better either.
