you've gotta have a starting point.... when I was starting out with minis and morris minors, at about your age, I used to do what I could by myself, I'd watch my dad (or other relative/family friend) and ask him a lot of questions, I'd ask the experts for advice, and I'd get the experts to do it for me and look over their shoulder

I'm 28 now, and I still ask the experts for advice, and when I can't work out what to do, I still get the experts to do it for me.... when I was 14, there wasn't much chance of being stranded alone in the middle of nowhere

the other thing I do a lot is read the manual....

i'm guessing you're like jaan... on his 11th birthday he got a Moggie 1100 manual.... and used to read it in bed

I am 28 as well, and while I don't know the names of all the parts I'm looking at but I can fix damn near anything on a car if I work things out from first principles - and I still can't tune carbies to save my life.

Life has taught me a few things
1: If you don't know - ask
2: If someone asks for help - give it (what goes around...)
3: If someone else screws things up, don't laugh - next time it could be you (and according to karma probably will be!)

This forum is easily the best repository of mini infomation in Australia, and anyone, of any level, can ask any question, and get (even Willie!) an intelligent answer.

Just remember any question you can ask, someone else will think is silly, cos they already know the answer!
