So I'm thinking of going black. Contessas or minilites and if I were to take the flares off, would a 10 x 5 wheel be alright?

I'd lodge a complaint about the officer's conduct if I were you.

Cheers,
Brett.

Yeah the fire was still up the road. Still, at the point I was waiting to get home to assess the situation for myself and retrieve the in-laws and my two year old daughter.

Depends on the offset. LS offset Contessas would be alright but are rare (and tend to crack) if you want Mini offset Contessas like mine, keep the flares.

I'm now booked in at Simpson Automotive here in Newcastle on Monday. He was gobsmacked and agreed that the cop was a jerk. Time for a more agressive stance... on Barney that is.

Funny how I always jump to the more expensive, aesthetic solution first though.

Just got pulled up by highway patrol to check my licence as we needed to pass through a closed area with the fires in Williamtown atm. Mr Plod then advises that my wheels are outside the guards and as such Barney is to be issued with a defect notice. 1 hour to get home, 21 days to fix or rego is cancelled.

ning nong was highly combative just to make the exchange all the more enjoybale. ning nong.

So where can I get a set of 10 x 5. Maybe rose petals.

:x

So some are still rabbiting on about slight protrusions, I feel your pain, what really, really, really annoys me is that they seem to let Hot Rodders cruise around (sometimes) with no guards :!:

PS agree...report the jerk...unacceptable behaviour

Yes, albeit with a sympathetic inspector. My dad has registered a whole fleet of MG's, Morris' and generic car there for decades.

None really. But why is an atmospheric venting blow off valve illegal? Stupid laws to give police unnecessary power to revenue raise I reckon
