exactly you just might want to get cleaner ones (though I think these are the mid 90's seats, the earlier ones are a tiny bit smaller too).

Any ideas?

When I spoke to another "Mini specialist" last week he said the same thing. If they aren't mounted to the original seat mounts, they must be engineered, in NSW anyways, don't know if that applies to all states.

Can I clarify this please. Do you mean the original body fixing points or the original frame and slides of the mini seat. I have a Recaro that has all the slides in it and they are designed to bolt to a mounting subframe.

I was told that a Cobra `Mini subframe' is legal on a Cobra seat, they bolt to the original Mini front mounts and the back part sits on the floor.
So, being a cheapskate & welder, I made my own copy. 6 seat positions using the Mini mounts- it doesn't slide though.

Smokie - can you get a closer pic of the seats please? They look pretty good.

Also, what do the custom mounts that people have made look like? I'm going to be looking into seat upgrades and the mounting methods are still unclear to me.

aussie16 they set me back $500.00 the pair. I got them from a Mazda wreckers in Dandenong in Victoria.

Molina if you go to my Moke site, you can see better shots of the seats and how I attached the back end to the body...

I think one certainly would, I have Recaro's in mine, different model though..

That one looks a little wider, so I think with two it would be a tight fit...

I would also like to see some pics of the custom mounts people have. I intend on going with standard high back clubby seats in the van.

They look awefully wide... do you reckon they'd fit?? you'd need midget hands to reach the handbrake between the seats.
