Couldn't the car seller and the plate seller be the same person?

Sure you can report dodgy ads on CarSales, albeit I have no idea whether they are responsive or follow up at all? That said, if enough of us report along similar lines then perhaps that might cause some action to be taken?

That's doesn't come up on the iPad I'll fire up the computer and report the ad.

I put in a report aswell.

Don't waste your time reporting. I reported a dodgy Choke in Gold Coast being advertised as a '71 Moke a couple of times as it was relisted. I only got one acknowledgement email and they never took any action.

You want action, got to the cops or DOT.

Do we need to start a folder for faked cars?
I have seen a Mini K - YG2S1 restamped as a Mk2 Cooper S YG2S4.
The thing that gave it away was the high body number. Had all the S bits.
I will have to see if I can find the photo.

I think it is unreasonable to expect car sales etc to cancel an ad just coz someone contacts them and says its a fake. In the end it is buyer beware.

It is back advertised again ready for some poor sucker to part with his money.

Some one needs to put a ad up saying do not buy this mini with his pics and pics of the plate if its free to put a ad on or theres always gumtree

"Someone" is probably better off making a complaint to the police and let them deal with it...
