cody, I always wanted to put a flip front on one of my minis, but the only f'glass ones
I've seen up close were crappy & heavy.

Go the metal flip front - lighter & your nice paint job won't crack up!

Mike

I've got a full roundnose front cut here, would be ideal for a flip front, i will have it at the swap meet on sunday.

The fibreglass one I had was lighter than a steel front, and was strong and rigid. But yes the paint did crack - ONLY after somebody sat on it, pushing it all down onto the rocker cover.

And also, the ends of the fibreglass wore thru the paint on the scuttle panel below the windscreen simply because it wasnt fastened down proerly along the seams.

Other than that, people couldnt even tell it was a fibreglass front.

my last mini was a fibreglass flipfront.

if u want to save ur self alot of heartache and keep urself out of trouble, i'd advise not to get one.

what happens when u have a front on collision and the whole front of ur car shatters. the cops will bend u over and make pudding of ur but

A flip front will be fine as long as your engineer approves it. The subframe is the strongest part up front anyway....
