"Mick, those photos really tell a story - car looking a bit tired, house needing a bit of attention and the guy looking somewhat forlorn! Absolutely brilliant. Could be in a photographic display.
Richard" Very true.

I'd love to own that house.

I doubt that Ty. I was there at Snowtown on the weekend. Bloody cold, nothing around for miles and this all in the town known for the bodies in the barrels.

I went into Snowtown that day in 2006 with the most macabre of intentions I have to admit. This fellow Max had no less than a dozen or so minis, and a superlative very early estate in the shed with the vertical fuel tank. A lovely old bloke, and an amazing house. I left that town with a different perspective.

To answer your original question, I know of a factory black 997 Cooper. It is the only one I have ever seen. You know who it belongs to aswell....

Here's an original black 850 I found in Snowtown some years back. Its owner (Max) was the second owner, having bought it only a couple of years old. The colour and trim was original.

Does anyone know what the history of the side trim is on this one, Iv seen one 850 in perth with the same trim but it was driving around. Was this a genuine or aftermarket option?, The missus really likes it so would like to get some info on it for her 850

The stripe down the side was a dealer fitted option on the 850. Our 850 has a silver one. They came in silver or gold.
My mother in law paid around £9 extra at time of purchase for the side stripes and wood grain dash.
Still looks great today.

Mick, could this be the estate?

It was sold a couple of years ago by a guy in South Australia who said his grandfather had owned it.

I have a factory black 67 deluxe. I would also like to know more info on them, was black a special order or a standard colour?

Cheers
Matt
