Looking at these photos the Coil HT lead appears to have a heavy sheath around it.

I assume it's the radio suppressor you are referring to. To my knowledge it first appeared with the MK II Cooper S coil lead which is part AYH9680. I was fortunate to pick up one of these NOS a few years ago.

Thanks Doug. I was thinking it was something like that but didn't want to give anyone a bum-steer.

I've already mentioned and others have confirmed that a variety of plug leads and caps appear to have been used across the BMC range, including the Mini. The parts books are of marginal help with pictures, numbers and change points.

Below are some engineering drawings for plug leads that may have been used. The First Used On field variously shows YDO9 (Nomad), ADO16 (Morris 1100) and ADO17 (Austin 1800), but that doesn't automatically exclude the Mini range (YDO4, 5 & 6). I've posted these so others can continue the discussion using factory documentation.

The plastic clip that keeps the four plug and single coil HT leads neat is this one. It was fitted to every MK II S I've owned and presumably other vehicles as well. You can see it in some of the engine bay photos. You'll see it says First Used On the Mini Matic.

Thanks Doug.
This is sure a very helpful subject now
Getting a lot closer now to an answer and maybe a purchase.
Pete.

These are apparently from a Clubman, although, as mentioned earlier, the same style was used on the Marina and P76. You can see some have the protruding ridge, some are stepped and some are straight.

It would be nice to identify the manufacturer. I'll ask on some Leyland FB groups.

I have seen that style on a few 1971 MK2 Cooper Ss as well.

One of the P76 guys has these leads and plugs on his Targa. He doesn't know the manufacturer.

I assume the leads mentioned in the following Parts News Newsletter from March 1970 are the solid plastic capped ones described above.
