Ok for the uneducated like me why once i put warm water over the carbies ( like GT
recomended) did my car start straight off.???
i dont want to have to do this all the time there must be a set up problem.
by the way just had it serviced and adjusted by mini place.

I used to have to get out, pop the bonnent and wedge a rock or stick in under the carby to hold the choke on. Lazy I know, should have just gotten a choke cable settup.

 been there done that - still have not fixed the choke cable. the 850 now has one of those funky starter switches under the bonnet so i don't have to wedge the choke now

take it back to the people who serviced it, was it a tune and service or was it just a regular service (oil and filter ) if the former they should fix it, there are many reasons for cold start problems and most are nothing to do with the carby

Well i got a bill for 1300 and that was for clutch problems as well bush's and
drive shaft seals he said he adjusted the carbies right and tuned it.
I didnt go into detail with him as it started fine.
Anyway i rang when i couldnt get it to start and apparently i owe more money?? :? :?
he didnt charge me for something.
Anyway started with the hot water trick.
the thing is it started fine before he adjusted whatever he did and i had had it all set up
by the guy before in queensland that did the head and carby rebuild who does race engines. i didnt ask him to touch the carbies as they where done.
