Hi I am Adam from WA

I have a Mini Deluxe, which is registered as a 63 but I am more inclined to believe its a 66/67. I dont know why i wanted a mini but after going around the mini factory, England, in 97, i was hooked and looked for about 2 years till i got my mini.

My mate Andrew (minivan) and i spent six month repairing and respraying it and now i think it looks great!! I am looking to do some mechanical mods now and to have a whole lot of fun.

Nice to meet you and I hope i can add something!

Adam

Hi Matt here. Currently in the process of dropping a Starlet GT engine in the Mini. Have it sitting in the subframe at the moment and just about to start welding the subframe around it. Will put up plenty of post when it is done.

Andrew, Meck and Adam.. wow 3 WA'ers :)

Andrew, Im in Mini Car Club (I think :) ) but coz Im down south and the Mini hasnt been going since I got it back. I havent been to any gatherings yet.. I just get the Newsletter.. and talk to the guys who race Minis round Barbies etc, thats where Ive got most of my information/contacts.

I couldnt recommend one club or another, but MCC of WA seems to have plenty of events and gatherings. I just need my Mini going to join in :)

Hi Guys

It is Citric Acid(new Ford Australia colour), but its got a Blue pearl over the top! so the colour goes a bit different! But in the sun light the shinny parts turn blue.

68matic: On my rego paper it says 63 but other indicaters say later

true miniVan?

Just really need to get my hands on a nice mig welder I suppose. This will be the 4th mini I have rebuilt thus far.

Previously I use to pinch other peoples TIG setups. Just need to bite the bullet and get a MIG. :D

So you did the paint job yourself?

yes true..

i didnt paint my mini.. (its about 5 different colours at the moment where the last owner started to have a go.. but i painted adams mini (read 'citric') (he did all the hard stuff like sanding.. well i helped too, but i laid the paint down)

he didnt need any rust repairs at all.. its still 100% original morris steel (we had it sandblasted to make sure there were no dodgys going on

but i've done it on other cars (65 xp falcon and my gfs 78 escort)

aswell as a new panel on my panny van
its easy enough.. you just have to have the cohones to try
