Moved my Mk II shell down the road to a dry garage for the first time in its life. It can stay in storage until I get the Estate finished, then off to the blasters so I can see what I'm dealing with.

Also got my van door seals and other bits from Minisport, but reconstructing the bottom of one of the doors will be a mission (but in a good way).

Helped my mate refit the twin HS4s to his Police spec MK2S, after doing the head gasket.
What a PITA throttle return spring system... with the police pack one piece heatshield, there's no room!!

IF there is a next time, we will pre-assemble it all to the heatshield and use 2 vice grips to hold the carbs to the shield at top.
Then drop the lot in over the bottom studs as a unit.

Spent the day in the shed completing the wiring on 'Marvin' for the H4 lamps and the extra driving lights.

Running twin 'New Era' dual fused 30amp relays so Hi and Lo standard lights run off one relay while the driving lights work off another relay.

I'm impressed with how tidy his car is. Very well thought out engine bay (from what we can see), not particularly cluttered. Also nice job on the body work. Easily as good as that HK you did.

Cheers - here is a pic just for you PK.

Haven't cleaned up the engine bay for over 12 months. Have plans for an aluminium checker plate cover for the hole behind the speedo so it gets rid of looking at all those wires.

Luv it Kev - but they are never big enough!

Even with the workbenches in there it can hold 10 minis

I love the cloth looming, looks very tidy. When I did my last car, I used tape actually. Its tidy, but doesn't quiet have the same nice look that the cloth does. I like where you've put your horn too, nice bracket. Works well and makes better use of the space I reckon.

I put some up of mine in a couple of weeks when I'm done. A lot it is the say sort of lay out.

<edit> checker plate hey? Just looking at the rest of your eng bay, it looks very period, but more like the way it should have been done (if that makes sense)... Have you looked at maybe just the coconut wool sound proofing on the vinyl backing? Just a suggestion, its your car, and I think checkplate will look good anyway..

And I have had these for a while now, but have been unable to take decent photos as I lost the charger for my camera(found the charger today)

You know I love your work Dave but I thing the checker plate is not perfect.
Please consider a peice of S/S Sheet instead. You can mount it as you were with the Checker plate but I think it will keep up the class more with Ss.
hay and it will be easier to clean and show off the twins also

Bogged it up to the sills (actually, 'twas a couple of weekends ago, close enough ). Couldn't dig it out, had to walk to the neighbours for a tow
