Put a reconditioned steering rack in the clubbie yesterday followed by a freshly painted subframe, fitted new donuts and HiLo's, then replaced the front brake hoses with new braided hoses and bled the system. Removed the diff and changed the crown wheel for a 3.11 one. Next on the go will be to change the pinion and then it can all go back together and engine back in.

A bit more wiring tidy-up...
P/O (before 850man) had the Vac advance pipe going to the oil pressure gauge, Ignition coil power wire connected to the (998) oil pressure switch, Water temp sender wire going to the coil...
Fun, Fun,Fun...

SFA ... again

Spent the evening trying to get one of the other cars ready to race this weekend. Poor MR BN is still waiting.

started the moke for the first time with his new engine!

a wee bit smokey... needs a tune!

also, can someone show me a picture of where the idle (screw? jet?) is on a weber? tis rather low, or is it a case of putting a little more tension on the throttle cable?

Anywho, clutch and brakes are bled! just have to assemble a few things ie, put it all together and give it a clean/wash.... all before 8am in the morning  (blueslip is at 9am...) thats right, i wont be sleeping tonight :)

Matt on your particular Weber the idle speed screw is next to the throttle arm, on passenger side of the carby.

Had to deliver a 37" Tv to a little old lady 30km south of my house so instead of taking my truck I bundled my offsider and the TV into the Mini and went for a drive down the freeway to delivered it. The lady was beside herself with joy when she saw us pull up in the mini. She loved it. So did the car, runs nice and smooth and sits on 110km/h beautifully, and several other speeds....... 8)

Lurv my little Mini.

swapped over rear wheel bearing as one side was not really spinning. Could turn by hand (at hub without wheel) but it was hard work.
Also worked out that my rear wheels where sticking out different amounts so removed the radius arm shims and adjusted to get them to match. Adjusted rear drums. when I jacked it up she barely had rear brakes.
Will take for a spin tonight.

Took my first non official drive in the moke as a non-blueslipped car to the blue slippers...

was missing a breather pipe and the bloke didnt like the sound (105dB)

so i went to the next bloke Dave, who had been suspended from giving out blues for the next 3 months, went to 4 other places (getting to around 3pm) all of them were far too busy, but would be more than happy to slip it come monday morning

not all bad, got to drive my moke all day, passed 3 cops, none of them gave me a second glance...

but frig.... i love the engine in this thing! its an animal!!! im gonna say around 50hp at the wheels, 3.7 diff means i get on cam (RE13) rather quickly...

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG thanks to DrMini for all of his help over the past couple of weeks, only started the engine for the first time yesterday arvo

Hopefully come monday morning it will all be good and on the road (4 days before i go to wagga  )

Went to minisport and spent a small fortune...

New inner and outer cvs.
New short manifold and linkage kit for my 42 webber.

The linkages are confusing me a bit... does someone here have a pic of the setup?
