Took delivery of a new carpet set, door seals, all window seals, seat belts and a fair few other bits and pieces in that delivery.

Came home, slip in the letter box to go to post office and pickup the new guage set. Then came home again and Wet sanded the doors and all the hinges.

Picked up my dual circuit proportioner valve from ABS(Thanks Trev!!). $100 and fully reconditioned.
Pulled off the Triger belt and replaced it(rebuilt motor has been sitting for 3 years in a hessian cover!!). Shimmed out the crank damper so it wasn't scraping on the belt cover.
Re-WD40-ed the bores...gotta get this car finished!
Loctited the extended crank bolt and torqued it up(bloody hard with the allen key!!).
Continued to re-sikaflex all the joins in the engine bay.
Played in the frost outside the garage door...looked at the mini sitting there all cold and forlorne

Hooroo

Finally got back to my Deluxe, fitted front carpets and insulation over the new dynamat. Makes a huge difference. Refitted heater, checked that heater cables adjusted.

Refilled radiator with antifreeze, checked other fluids, took it for a spin. Big :D
Took it for a wash, got back in, wet seat :? . Drove it home :D .

Which version of dynamat did you go for, Did you give a second thought to the extra weight? I hear its quite heavy.

I used the dynamat extreme stuff, (bought it off ebay). It just looks like sticky backed sheets of bitumen with a sheet of foil on 1 side. Very easy to install, I just used some tinsnips to cut the sheets to size and made sure that the surface I was sticking it to was clean.

I did the firewall, front wheel arches up to the dash and the floor up to the bulkhead that the front seats are attached to. I still hear the weber but I no longer have ringing ears after a drive and the droning isn't anywhere as bad. That said, I only took it to the supermarket and car wash, so haven't clocked up any time on the Fwy yet and it could have been that I have been driving it around for a while without any carpet.

It does weigh a bit and if I went over board and did the whole car then yes there could be a weight penalty, but it's a road car not a race car.

If I chose to eat a few less cheeseburgers, the weight increase will be negligible. :D

I've also got a few sheets left to use on the van when I get around to it.

Welded up Morris badge holes in my replacement bonnet for the K, made a template and drilled the holes for the Mini K bonnet badge.

Welded up badge holes in my clubman bootlid, need to drill holes for the Morris Mini 1100 badges.

It's not much but feels good to be doing something on it!!
Might even chuck a couple of pics in my build thread later.

Did a service on the van and replaced all of the brake wheel cylinders as they were leaking or nearly seized :(
Picked up 2 more doors for the project and now I am stripping the paint off so I can deliver to the paint shop tomorrow.
Sounds like my project at the spray shop is finally progressing. :D

Knackered one of my doors i got off mini_max :x :x bloody thing got caught under the floor pan of a clubby shell and dinted in the front panel of the door. It is totaled now i think. Couldnt find the set of front guards that 123grosso wants, i have no idea where they are unless they are hidden up the back of the factory. Was tempted to take my dead girl for a spin on 3 cylinders just around the back. Oh thats is another thing that is knackered my motor. It is on 3 cylinders and putting out massive amounts of smoke, aswell as a strange rattle. And it grinds into first and second gears   Hay is looking out of the question for my little Alice  unless we trailer it up and drive the moke with no hood or side screens with the freshly rebuilt 1360 stroker with quaife and all.

Dropped off the mini for sandblasting.
For an extra $250 the guy is also priming it for me. Big time saver for me!

Dropped off 2 more doors at the spray shop and checked out the fresh paint. :)

Came home and then buffed the minivan as a reward for getting through rego again.

finally got around to replacing and blocking off the mechanical fuel pump yesterday afternoon..

what a PITA that was.. did not help that the 2 bolts came half way out then decided to bind up on themselves.. felt like they where going to snap.. after about a zillion 0.1 of a ratchet turns, some blood, cursing, and black fella looking hands they came out.. :D

Even with the top engine steadies out, the engine would not fall forward enough to get the pump out in any direction, or even below.. my HUGE arse extractors and backing cover breather pipes certainly didn't help...

Got angry with it, and wasn't going to undo the exhaust with no spare manifold gasket, so smashed the pump up in behind the engine with a bar, and then lockie got the pump out easyyyyy and his anger was released at the same time :P:P

Now all good, looks like we've fixed the oil leak we had :P
