Dropped it off at the mechanic yesterday arvo to get the engine all fitted. In the next week or so, it should have a nice fun new engine and exhaust etc, working brakes and properly adjusted suspension. Then it's off to the upholsterer and it's almost ready to go back on the road. I haven't driven it for 5 years.

Can you feel the excitement in my words??

Just removed the pedal box, which would have been easy except someone used a split pin for one of the pedal pins, it took me 3 hours to get out, arggghhh lol.

Should have used an R clip. They catch the edge of the hole and fall out on their own which saves a lot of trouble.

A split pin is the correct thing to use.

Hey Morris, one was and one wasn't, i know what I will be putting back in, and it won't be a split pin lol

Like I said, an R-clip can catch the edge of the hole and it knocks the clip out and then the clevis pin falls out and you have no brakes. It has happened a few times to people on this forum.

I have no problem removing a split pin. What is the trouble? Give it a squirt, bend the ears and pull it out. Where is the drama?

It is better than crashing a car with no brakes.

Its not that hard to remove the split pin IMO Just a pair of long neck pliers and a flexi body
