Painted the shock absorbers a nice shiney red and then fitted, this enabled me to wind down the suspension. The rear is nice and low but the front is still too high.

Started to sort out the wiring loom but no 1275ls specs in the manual so not sure which wires are for the brake fail switch and heated rear window ?
Started to fit the interior trim and discovered the rear side panels don't fit because I have modified the rear wheel arch so the 13x7's will fit lower. Bugger! Another job.

Broke down this ebay purchase for the 12G940 head and 4 syncro box.

Any ideas on the front right hand corner of the subframe? Welds look pretty neat on bracket as though it is factory. Also four nuts welded along the front underside of the subframe which I think may have been put there for a sump guard?

I am not certain but I think it may be mounts for a Moke bumper.

yes it's a moke front subframe. 4 x nuts on the underside are for the sump guard / bash plate, and the two brackets on top are where the front bumper bar bolts on.

Got some paint mixed up in a tin in Toowoomba to match the colour of the interior trim. And I painted my speaker grills, so they blend into the panel. Looks better !!!

Pulled the clutch and flywheel out: at 1:00 in the friggin morning.
I'm sure the neighbours appreciated all the banging and grinding and loud music whilst that was going on!

Yep!! Thanks Matt, Perhaps I should make another set, and find an old BMC box and sell them as an NOS Accessory!!

Those Baskets looks Great!!! They slide all over the place though :?

I found out why my Gauges are not working..... Blew a fuse, I had the fuses pluged into the constant power, but must have blown a fuse during some wiring etc,.....
Changed the fuse box around to what it should be and put new fuses in, and they work!!!

Ordered a carburettor gasket kit from www.dellorto.co.uk after being given the runaround by both Auto One (or AutoPro, can't remember) and Autobarn.
It is much cheaper to buy a genuine Dellorto kit for TWO carbs (£47, post included) than buy a local made non-genuine kit for 1 carb (~$90), go figure..
I guess since EFI is so common now the local makers are having a hard time making any carby parts sales..

was mucking about trying to get the idle speed and mixture right in my garage, was looking for a misplaced screwdriver in the car, go look in the boot, only to see my mini roll out my very steep driveway, across two busy lanes on the road, just miss a car and go smash, sump guard first into the high curb across the road! all this with me desperately trying to hold onto the boot lid going aaarrrghgh

so, so bloody lucky I din't hit any pedestrian, end up in the lounge room of the house opposite, or any car - the car that it did just miss was by mere inches and he didn't even stop (a second earlier and he would have been t-boned

anyways, my sump guard is now bent back, and slightly torn - anyone got one they wanna get rid of?? and I think it may have loosened an engine mount as tho it still drives and goes through the gears fine, there is a clunk from behind the brake pedal area when I put it into first or go down gears rapidly

not bloody happy, still slightly shaken, but mighty relieved I didn't kill someone or do some serious damage to either that car, the house over the road, or my Mini

methinks I need a beer

  :(
