Looking great!! :D It took me 4 hours to get the engine in, and bolted up. I used the new engine mounts, and had the usual issues with fitting

I charged up the batteries in both minis, the 1275 and 998 and gave them a start.

The Toll car removalists didn't seem to know how to start pre-EFI engines. They turned the engines over and over till they melted one of the mini solenoids, and flattened the other's battery..

In desperation, the mental giants decided to open up the air filters and stare down the carby throat for some inspiration. They then wound the wingnut back down until it was threaded....ahhh...perfect.

In final desperation, they rang me. I told them where to find the choke knob.
The removalists went onto stacking an arc welder onto two 30yr old Marklin train set, and other gross violations of removalist etiquette.

So, one NOS solenoid and two charged batteries later, we're away.

Fitted the door hardware. One big step closer to getting it on the road.

Restored the bore of an old MotaLita steering wheel hub for the van.
Some bloke had bored it out to a Morse taper and put a key in it- probably for a boat.
It now has been filled with alloy bar, TIG welded in, bored to size again and the splines broached in a big lathe using an old steering column (slightly modified).
It worked out OK. :P
