My take on this is....
Young people do flog the arse off cars. how do we know, we were young once too.
I don't think doogie is saying don't modify cars
what i think he is saying is, if your gonna do it, don't make it unsafe, and don't bodge it up.
I mean whoever put hose flares on and put that hole for the sub in, obviosly didn't have a clue.
Doogie didn't buy the car to prove a point, he bought it because his wife wanted it. As you get older you will also come to realise, what the wife wants, the wife gets, there is no exceptions to this rule, believe us "old" folks.
If your young and you take exception to what the older generation, then is 10-20 years time i think you will be sitting here saying what us "old" folks are saying.
Don't be offended, take what is said in and don't get so worked up. You will be looking back in yyears to come and think to yourself, ggee i was being daft back then. Of course if you don't want to listen to what other people say, don't read it.

My problem is really with stereotypes. This is what im angry about. THe stereotype that young people wreck cars. Older people wreck cars too, you know.

JAn breaks a stereotype by owning mutant. Our local mini mechanic breaks a stereotype by fanging every mini he can get his hands on down the road.

Stereotypes are BS in my oppinion, and i think they shoud be wiped out. WHilst some of them do fit, there is always an exception to this. NOt just a minor one but one for the magority of the population in the stereotype.

So young people wreck minis do they? What about all those horror stories we hear about mechanics wrecking minis. Doing stuff to them that causes the gearbox or the engine to break, and become ruined. Somehow, i doubt that they are all young people.

NOw lets let this topic die, otherwise it will also disapear.

what i dont understand is why you come on here to bitch about the "stuffed up" car that you bought. if you knew it had the problems then i dont see why you had to make this thread offencive. you say you meant no harm, but you can tell by the title it is an attack.

(maybe this thread should be deleted? or locked?)

I was proving a small point, on another post (here i go explaining again) someone don't sell this certain car to a young person as they will stuff it, then it all started.

As our clubman's 2 previous owners were 16-17 they were the ones who butchered the car in the 1st place, as i said 2 previous owners, note 2 makes them people, not a person. Then i stated that im not trying to tar everyone with the same brush.

So i & others belive i have made a valid point.

This will be my last post on the topic.
