nice idea but will never happen
why not just use a 1275 initial cost is slighty more, but at least they will be able to do some resonable times. not low 2 minute times around mallala

doesnt matter what you run, just so long as everyone else is running about the same so you get some nice racing..

agreed but it will never happen because you guys are all about cost. to race you need a logbooked car(read roll cage set and so on), suit, helmet, gloves, boots, nomex jocks, race licence etc

1275's weren't used because of that extra expense... buying an engine, doing it up, and disc brakes were then essential.
Not everyone has a big budget or a 1275 with discs, lets keep it simple.
Where the cars are all in a 5-10 sec difference around mallala.

how it going steve? if you want to race drums even with a 1000cc then you are going to have longish races at the ip nationals we had a 20 lapper. my guess would be no pedal after about 3 or 4

These cars were only ever intended to go to supersprints and regularity events... therefore not having the extra costs of a true race car. but still getting some miles on a race track with other cars of your lap time around you.

When braking becomes an issue if the series makes a revival, i'll worry about it then.
My brakes would last 8 laps of mallala.
standard mini about 5 in good condition.
crappy mini brakes... 3 laps.

so essentually you will not be racing agenst other minis but cars with similar times. which kind of makes the 1000cc racing thing use less. you might as well just supersprint anyway

makes for some exciting racing!! look at the A1 GP 8)

no, we need support from people to run regularly enough that we can have a bracket of our own.
I have my new car(1275) that i would rather be driving, but in the interests of the mini, and having more fun with other mini drivers, i reckon this is a good thing.

You've been to supersprints, race meetings etc... spent big money on engines and broken things... how frustrating.

raced it for 2 years not 1 dnf and won the improved production chamionship this year. you just have to throw away the rotary and put in a piston engine.
been there in a smallbore they cook drums if you use them like you should.
