My brother "1310/71" reminded me that my mother had a Morris 1500 at one time and that I actually drove it to Melbourne. I barely remember it so it must have been fairly unremarkable. It was a five speed, and from vague memory, also fairly gutless.

It (if i remember rightly) had cable operated gear linkages and a very sloppy gear change. My mother was also fairly non descript about it - so it wasn't much.

It was a Nomad (hatchback), bought to replace a mini van that had a noisy engine (bought it at lunchtime and returned it for a refund by sunset). Mum went into partnership in a Nursery (plants) and needed something to move the pots and plants around in, so that was the reason for the 1500. It was a five speed, light blue in colour. It was sold on with a broken gearbox a year or two later.

She also had a pretty hot mini deluxe at the time that had the engine out of one of the supermini series sports sedans shoved into it.
