long time since I flew anything that takes avgas. What ever happened to the LL130. I will have to ask the refueller next time and see what Air BP are selling.

Matt,
IMO you would get more gain now by tipping some toluene in.
The reason Avgas was the dog's bollocks (once) was it had shitloads of tetra ethyl lead in it.

spoke with the refueller today.
he uses 100 LL (100 octane)(low lead)
Apparently some of the other suppliers may still use 100-130 octane with the high lead content.
Talking with Grieg today he didnt believe 100LL would make a noticeable difference and that it might well be worse as it is harder to detonate. Which would go along with the earlier post.
All that aside it does make for an excellent degreasing agent !!
