Hi speedy,

The motor is kind of a goldy colour. A lot like a rusty colour. Very very much like a rusty colour in fact.

Don't worry, the blocks steel is thick.

I reckon any colour is better than rust 'colour'.

From looking at other people's engine bays a nice bright and glossy red looks best.

I always liked the look of the bay of a van I owned a few years ago. . .note how the blue of the bodywork is cunningly faded into the green of (some) of the engine and then carefully contrasted with a burst of orange from a radiator explosion. . .

Image

And what's even better is that it had a wooden dash. . . .aaand a snake's head gearknob. . .
See?

Yup, you're right - that's the one that became the red van. . .I'll have to dig up an 'after' shot of the bay to show the change. . .

Funny - this is about as close as I can ger to an 'after' photo - not sure where all my red van pics have got to.
Either way, I guess it still shows some improvement. . .

How many clean engines were out there !! I can only say I lifted the bonnet this morning and thought "I can do this !!", so lookout, one day I will post a pic of my engine (which actually is pretty clean)

My only disappointment is that Hanra won't put his car on a truck and send it south !!!

A1 :D :D
