According to BP's NZ website all Ultimate 98 comes from Kwinana in WA.
The Kiwis get theirs from there too.

I believe it, worked at a servo in which the owner would only fill up his car from a certain pump, always 2 days after the tanker had filled it up. He was very proud of the fact that his Benz dealer had never seen a fuel filter go 100,000kms before needing replacement.

V-Power Racing runs well for me - the stuff gives you more power than avgas - read this:

http://www.motec.com.au/fueltest/

You need to advance timing to get real benifits - you might find that is why you guys had troubles with it.
it's really worth the effort - it's the cheapest way to get extra horsepower without mods

Fuel requirements are dependant totally on compression ratio, timing etc so to say that "Minis" need X is nonsensical. Mine is perfectly happy on standard whatever comes out of the hose.

Certainly some highly developed engines may benefit from high octane fuel but its a waste if the engine doesn't need it.

Cheers, Ian

Fuel nozzles have a filter in them ;).

A very fine mesh, you shouldn't get any particle crap in your tank no matter what is in the tank. If that filter in the nozzle gets block, then no fuel comes through.

Any crap that is stirred up after a load is dropped in will settle within about 24 hours. Probably quicker. Depends how low the tank was run before the drop and how much was put in.

hey,
just going to chuck my bit in here,
i have worked in and around a major fuel plant (where it is stored B4 it is trucked out to servo's)

here is a fact, the fuel comes from oversea's on a boat, and all they get off the ship is JET A-1, ULP, pulp, and diesel, all these fancy fuels and just a syrip type of stuff that in injected while the fuel is pushed into the loading arm and it is getting loaded into the truck, these mixtures chop and change a fair amount, and the mix itself is changed all the time...we did a major job there once, and 2 of the fuels that people were saying they liked/dislikes were the same fuel, just sold under to diffrent brand names for over 3 months....

and BOY some people DONT wanna see the RUST AND CRAP that comes out of the tanks...

Exactly right.

Thats how E10 is done, it doesn't come in as "E10", they load it as ULP and then dump Ethanol in at another bay.

Ok so what were saying here is that in general fuels are mixed/produced under dubious environments - so that being the case then from what i understand all fuel comes to us this way?

That aside What fuel do you use? I use V-Power Racing - i get better econ and power from the stuff with my timing advanced.

I'm using whatever 95 i can get every 5th fill using flashlube or alike as its been used to it and don't want to ruin anything. Its a old 1098 unmodded and I don't see the point in changing what has been working for both the previous owners.
