Glad everything is going all right with your son.

Best of luck with the mini and I hope the saga has a speedy resolution.

Keep his face white with vitamin "E" cream,,, & i mean keep it white,!!! if it wipes off or absorbs in, then keep plastering the stuff on there. Facial scars are not the best or prettyest things to have & altho kids heal quite quick & quite well, the Vitamin "E" cream constantly on the cuts with stop the scarring. What ever you have been told by who-ever about scarring & what to do then well & good but trust that i have had 156 stiches in my face & they are just not visible & it`s only because my mum said to keep vitamin "E" cream on it the whole time, Keep it white & wet with the stuff

& hope your wagon heals well too :-)

For all that are interested Aiden is healing up remarkably fast and is has his normal personality back and is happy which is great. Still, were happy he's happy.

Traveller wise, it looks like it is going to be fixed! The Panel beater who has come highly recomended has done a quote and shannons is going ahead so I have been informed. So the Van should be back and fixed in the next couple of weeks. I am going to find out more on monday and will also negotiate him to paint the rest of the car at the same time, which will be at a cost to me but i may as well make it all match and it may as well be done by a pro. Will be finding out more come monday morning.

Cheers
Aaron

Sorry to contradict a mini expert but if he was talking minis I wouldn't dare but when he gives advice in my area of expertise that has been shown to be invalid I have to speak up. Vitamin E cream has been shown a) not to be of benefit and b) actually cause some skin damage in high concentrations. If there is fear of scaring there is a product that is made by Ciba that is specifically made to prevent and remove keloid scare tissue. you can also use a product such as Solusite Gel - have a talk to you local Pharmacist. Oral Vitamin A as Beta or Multi Carotene and Vitamins E and C have been shown help with wound healing also.

Don't worry, Aiden has perscription stuff form the Plastic Surgeon so it is the goodly stuff. If they don't know then no one knows.

I'm looking forward to making the call on monday to the panel beater, the car will go down on tuesday as i can't take it down as i am working on monday. All good i say.

Cheers
Aaron

yes I am sure a trauma plastic surgeon knows his business. They are a different breed to the ones shown on american makeover shows.

My 23 yo son when he was Aiden's age had a door suddenly blow closed on his hand and it chopped off the top section of one of his fingers. After a bit of confusion he ended up at Westmead and under the consult of both an orthoped and a plastic. Both much to our dismay decided to do nothing. They said that intervention would do more harm than good. They also said that his finger, at that age, would grow back.

It did !!!! Kids are truely resilient and unique.

BTW - the panel beater ?? is that a Wetherill Park based one of much mini repute ??

what an unfortunate thing to happen at the hands of someone so careless! it must have been very difficult for your whole family. it is perfectly excellent to hear everything is coming up trumps.

best of luck (don't know if you need it anymore!!!)

I'll also agree on the vitamin "E" cream is not the best idea when a Major situation has accured. Also started to paist the E Cream on when I face planted the road. Was told not to and let the body do its job, which it did.
Can't say my head is worse off than it was before..Much :?
Arron did Adian go on Friday night?
