$15,000 or $150,000 it doesn't matter.....Do you really want to be one of those guys that approach another Cooper S owners and say "I used to own one of these" with a look of dissapointment and regret on their face.
I know I don't.
I have had mine for approx 12 years, and like you, there a times where your priorities may change and the Coops doesn't get driven as much as it should. But you still have it sitting there waiting for that day where you take it out of the garage and have fun. Much like a game of golf it only takes one good shot to keep you coming back for more.
Don't sell it, if you can afford not too. Lock it away, the passion will return!

Loosing the passion or financial pressures ?

The joy of having multiple cars - is that if one falls out of favour you can use the others (even non mini).... and when the interest is rekindled come back to it.

A car with such a unique history (including your own Hay victory - remember you are adding to it's story) would be irreplaceable - and as time goes on even more expensive to replace with something similiar than what you sell it for now.

I lost the passion for minis being swamped with mortgage, work, failed romances and so on. Mine sat in the back of the garage for 7 years ..... and I am glad I kept them...
in fact the passion is now back with a vengance - and am still amazed at where mini prices have gone.

So my call is - if just the passion - then put it aside for now....
if there are other pressures - well family and home come first... but all must be seriously weighed and thought through.

Good Luck whatever your decision...

ok, a KAD head then, I can sort one for you & i have a friend who has allready turbo-d his ,,, you will regain the passion with some filthy fast grunt, just a little inspiration is all that`s needed

& no offence taken, big valve KAD head would defiantely flow better than a std Bimmer would anyways :-)

keep it man,,, truely,,, you will regret it if you don`t, that`s proven fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeez Doogs - If I hadn't been away the last couple of days and have a lot of catch up to do then I would would have met you there and lapped with you.

Just be aware - that a highway patrol guy's wife lives on the mountain (inside information) and reports anyone going too quickly.

 I have a feeling that the car is p1$$ed off with you as you have been spending to much time on all the other cars......scrapper 2, your other 's', etc and its letting you know haow it feels.
:D Once you settle into its well worn, comfortable seat, smell the familiar smells, feel how well it drives here the usual rattles and bumps, push it though some un/known corners with ease, open it right up on the open road and get back the feeling of just enjoying driving your reliable (i know we are talking about a mini here) car the love will return and you will want to forget that you even thought of posting this here let alone thought about it.
I was at hay when you won both Hay motorkhana and Heros (that did upset hot bricks pres, maybe it was.......... thats another story) not only is it a well set up car but the person behind the s/wheel was at one with the car. The only thing, may i suggest you put the 12" wheels back on the car Please! it looks so much better!!!!
This car has character Do Not Sell This Car!! you cant improve on its perfection of which you helped it achive, get in it and drive it more often, sell the others, they will never live up to this legend!

My 5cents worth.......hope this helps your decision NOT TO SELL IT!!!!

yeh doogie, please dont go quickly round the mountain, 99% of the time there is a highway patrol car sitting somewhere around the track just waiting. happened to us on our soccer trip away to bathurst, we were just going round there at 60, some dipsh*t in his vl commodore overtook us and next thing we knew there was a cop behind us lights flashing going after him.

but honestly, this is just my opinion, maybe look at giving a little bit back to the community with it, offer to starlight or someone similar that you can take a couple of kids around for a cruise with captain starlight etc in the car, and see the joy it brings to other people, maybe that will ignite your passion for it, seeing the happiness that it might bring to them. just my opinion, obviously there are other factors like insurance etc etc that could hinder this idea. just my $0.02

cheers,
robbie
