I feel so stoopid sometimes...many Seniors Moments lately.

Of course it is the good time of year down there - it's summer. I knew that.

What was I thinking. Is it winter in the Arctic perhaps? Maybe that's what I did, got my Arctic and Antarctic all confused.

I'm tired. Leave me alone. I'm old (at least I feel old - just ask my wife).

Yes, we had a very busy time at the Mini Muster. As usual, Jayne did all the work and I did a lot of talking.

Cheers,
Watto The Daft.

One of my co-workers and her husband are in Antartica at this very moment on a 31 day cruise on a Russian Icebreaker ($31,000 a head  ) - so jealous

I know, I just said that I was looking for it as a pretext to bragging about being there.

There is a lot of junk still there though, including some bits of old vehicles that would have been quite interesting. There was something about the size of a moke but with skid steering, I reckon it was an Weasel, probably no. 4 in the photo below.

Its well beyond salvaging, but they did retrieve one and restore it for display at work.

I do have a couple of news articles about tracked vehicles for the ANARE in my dads old Truck & Bus Transportation magazines. It may take a while to dig through them.

Will give it a go. The bus is pretty cool, there are also several Hagglunds and big tractors. Not much else that's interesting or old now. There's a Ford F-350 with tracks up at the air strip but I won't be going back up there and didn't get a picture.

Bart over on the IMMCC pointed out that another mini based snow vehicle has surfaced , for sale in Canada and this time the body is a local Canadian one . I still think the Mini-Trac looks better

Ew :(

The Datsun engine I could live with, but putting VeeDub parts onto a mini is unacceptable!

I know this hasn't spoken of for a while but having done some googling this morning and I've re-kindled my interest!!!

Has anyone ever looked for it in Flynn's wrecking yard outside Cooma?

I can't believe there is a chance its still somewhere in the Australian snowfields!

Good luck Mike, but I've been over a lot of Flynns over the years and I've never found it.

Yeah I can imagine it's not at Flynn's. It's bound to be tucked away somewhere in the mountains.

On that note however, have people checked Flynn's for rare minis? I know he has a few but last time I was there he wouldn't let me in
